In 1975, Government of India had initiated National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP). Later, Government of India launched National Program for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke (NPCDCS) in the year 2010 after merging NCCP with NPCDCS under the flagship programme National Rural Health Mission.
