The Truth About Me: A Hijra Life Story

Abstract

This Case story (Autobiography) is journey of Revathi (a transgender woman) beginning from her upbringing as a boy in a small village in Salem to her becoming a woman. It highlights her own feelings and desires, struggles, humiliation and indignation towards the sexual and structural violence afflicted by her own family and society towards her and the hijra community. It showcases her unflinching courage to fight violence and humiliation within her family and in the outside world.
